Mission Statement
Scoil Náisiúnta Béal Átha Lúbaigh is a Roman Catholic mainstream school under the patronage of the bishop of Waterford and Lismore, catering for boys and girls from 4 – 13 years of age.
The school is a partnership between the Board of Management, the teachers, the staff and the parents.

- to provide religious education for the pupils in accordance with the doctrines, practices and tradition of the Roman Catholic Church and the formation of the pupil in the Catholic faith

School Site and Facilities
The school is situated on a beautiful site nestled between the Knockmealdown and Galtee mountains. The school grounds consist of a beautiful flower garden/shrubbery, a vegetable garden, an astro turf section, two tarmac courts and a pitch with goal posts. There is also a playground for the infants with slides etc. Thanks to the hall committee, the school has the use of the local hall for indoor games.
The importance of caring for our environment is encouraged. The school takes part in the Green School initiative which is very successful in maintaining the school grounds and encouraging recycling

School Uniform
The uniform consists of: Navy skirt/trouser, red jumper/cardigan, white shirt, navy tie
There is also an official school tracksuit consisting of: Navy and red top, Plain navy bottom and white polo shirt
The uniform must be worn on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Children in Junior and Senior infants do not have to wear a school tie.
The tracksuit is to be worn only on P.E days, i.e. Thursday and Friday.
All items of clothing and footwear must be clearly labelled.
Indoor shoes must be worn in the school at all times.
N.B: For health and safety reasons please ensure your child has well-fitting shoes/runners not slippers for indoors
Board of Management
The Board of Management consists of:
- Two direct nominees of the Patron
- Two parents of children enrolled in the school (one being a mother, the other a father, elected by the general body of parents of children enrolled in the school)
(Note: to ensure the widest possible representation, where practicable, parents should be from separate families and bear no relationship to any other member of the board) - The Principal teacher (or acting principal teacher) of the school
- One other teacher on the staff of the school, elected by vote of the teaching staff, including the Principal teacher
- Two extra members proposed by those nominees described at (1) – (4) above
